This unique feature gives an additional 60 percent overall strength to each of the Sierra Designs Tents. The diameter of the poles are relatively wide, but the wall of the pole is comparatively thin. In just the right proportion this effectively increases strength and keeps them lightweight. Additionally the insert is longer than typical inserts for additional strength at the joints. Sierra Designs tents use doubled grommets giving strength to the tie down point and allowing you to tighten down the body for windy conditions. When desired the tension can easily and quickly be adjusted.
