Sierra Designs tents use the lightweight Nylon Ripstop making them durable and tough, yet highly portable. The poles lock in with "Clip-Locs" which fastens them together at the point they intersect. This unique feature gives an additional 60 percent overall strength to each of the Sierra Designs Tents. The diameter of the poles are relatively wide, but the wall of the pole is comparatively thin. In just the right proportion this effectively increases strength and keeps them lightweight. Additionally the insert is longer than typical inserts for additional strength at the joints. Sierra Designs tents use doubled grommets giving strength to the tie down point and allowing you to tighten down the body for windy conditions. When desired the tension can easily and quickly be adjusted. • Moken Sierra Designs Tents - The fly is coated Nylon Taffeta with a Ripstop canopy. The floor is coated Nylon Taffeta. There are two large sleeping areas 54" x 95" or 137 cm by 241 cm. There is a common area for packs and equipment. The weight of the Moken is 19 pounds or 8,626 grams, and accommodates either 4 or 6 people depending on the size.
• Alpha 3 Sierra Designs Tents - The fly and floor are made with coated 70D Nylon; The floor dimensions are 93.5" x 62.5" or 238 x 159 centimeters giving an interior area of 46 square feet or 14 square meters. The interior height is 45" or 114 centimeters. The "winter weight" of the Alpha 3 Sierra Designs tents is 8 pounds, 10 ounces or 3,910 grams. In the summer you can shed a pound of weight by optionally omitting the shock-absorbing pole sections and heavy-duty door panels for an incredibly lightweight 7 pounds 10 ounces or 3,460 grams.
